Hospitality and Diversity

Our friendly meeting opened wide many doors which I thought were often just ajar…

I am glad to hear another voice tell me that a human being carries his entire value with him, wherever he comes from and whatever the conditions and the reasons for his journey. And that we all make a free or forced journey in our lives; it's not just a matter of geography or origin.

I believe that among us, we have lots of Mozarts and Einsteins to welcome and with whom we can share and build, without this representing a danger to "our identities", on the contrary. Just like in a business you bring "your past" with you, whether good or bad, to a workplace, when entering a country (a concept that I dislike because it involves borders) you never come empty-handed. It is up to us to help heal wounds, and to learn a lot, perhaps to heal our own wounds, and to discover that sharing is the surest way to grow, to understand and to (get) respect.

Communicating also means promoting astonishment: refusing to be locked into an image of generosity or charity, and just trying to experience it simply, the Josefa Foundation wants to share that hosting the other and shared hospitality are a source of mutual enrichment and make our lives fruitful.
