A spiritual migration

In light of the progress made since 2011, as a state-approved foundation, or as a House, Josefa could wonder about its own migration, because Josefa’s mission is to rethink our migrations, with us, migrants, all of us…

As an institutional body, Josefa is nevertheless not devoid of a spirit, of a vision, in a way of a spirituality, albeit undoubtedly a non-denominational one.

Therefore, Josefa could wonder about what has been its journey since 2011, in terms of migration, conversion, shifts at the very heart of its global approach (material, intellectual, spiritual).

Josefa is, in a way, an economy of hope, the assurance of things hoped for.

The reciprocal hospitality advocated by Josefa provides a foretaste, an anticipation of the "home" which is found after an exile, a forced migration, after an unfulfilled search, or even after a freely initiated migration that left one unsettled in the end. Josefa is a break along the way to a more permanent "home".

As a result, in reaction to the journeys of each person (co-residents, volunteers, directors, partners), in relation with their unique migration, Josefa is being moved and its gaze turns to a renewed hope, beyond the only material, financial or administrative contingencies: the hope that one day our exiles will become calmed migrations and participate fully in the ultimate purpose of humanity’s march.

As a stop at the heart of our journey, Josefa invites us to move from oneself to beyond oneself: to those who are in search of reassurance and hospitality, Josefa becomes a proposal with a spiritual foundation in order to perceive a meaning, however subtle, beyond the dramatics expressed by the poetics of our migrations.

Josefa reveals myself / ourselves to the interiority of our migrations.
